A community run with a purpose, on a stretch of coast like no other. Whether you’re chasing a fast 9km, walking the 5km with the family, or lining the kids up for their first race, there’s a start line here for you.
Where: Kahawai Point, Glenbrook Beach, starting at Paddock to Pantry

Entry is $40 for adults in the 8km, $30 for everything else.
Entries close Sunday 20 September, two weeks out. That's a hard cut-off, so we can lock in t-shirt sizes and race numbers. No entries on the day.
What Every Entry Includes
- A chip-timed run, so you get a real result

- A finish line worth corssing, food trucks, and coast for days
The T-Shirt
Every finisher gets the 2026 Coastal Classic t-shirt. This is the inaugural design, and it won’t be printed again. Each year brings a brand new one, so year one is the start of a collectible set. Wear it as proof you were here first.
To guarantee your size, get your entry in by 20 September. Sizes are locked to the entry cut-off, so late is late.
The courses
The 8km Course
An 8km loop that shows off the point: 45% trail and off-road, 45% coastal trail, 10% road. Rolling, scenic, and runnable, with the water never far away. Good for a fast time, good for a first 8km.

The 5km Course
A 5km loop where you still get incredible views and will get to see the best Kahawai Point has to offer. Great if you still want to see the sights without that extra 3km.

Prizegiving
All races are chip-timed. We’ll present the top three men and women in each category:
- Kids
- Open Adults (8k)
- Adult Masters (40-59) (8k)
- Adult Veterans (60 and over) (8k)
Prizegiving is at 12:00 pm at the event centre. Stick around.
Bring your school
Schools, this one’s for you. Get your students to the start line of the 5km Kids Run or the 8km and be part of the School Challenge: the school with the most participants takes the prize. It’s about turnout, not a separate race, so every kid runs the same event alongside everyone else.

Teams and Workplaces
Grab your crew. Clubs, workplaces, and groups of mates can all enter together and run as a team. There’s no separate team price, everyone enters as an individual, but there’s nothing better than a big group of matching shirts at the finish line. Sort a team name, pick your distance, and make a morning of it.
